The Journal of Historical and Archaeological Research accepts articles in Bulgarian and English. Please take into consideration the following requirements when submitting your text:
- The article’s title should be written in the original language of the text and should be translated into English
- The author’s name should be written in the original language of the text and should be translated into English
- The article should include abstracts (150–300 words) in English and in Bulgarian
- Keywords (at least 5) in English and in Bulgarian should be added after the abstract
- If there are pictures, charts, diagrams, schemes, etc., they should be placed in their exact place within the text with consecutive numbers and annotations
- The archival sources should be cited in footnotes
- The Harvard short reference system should be used when citing information sources
- The Streamlined System for transliteration should be used when citing in Cyrillic
- The titles of the cited literature in Cyrillic should be transliterated into Latin script and then put into square brackets where written in the original

The quotation should be placed before the punctuation mark – example:

III. SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES
For the writing of reviews of new issues/editions (monographs, proceedings)
to be included in the Journal of Historical and Archaeological Researches
The Journal accepts for publication – in Bulgarian and English – reviews or presentations of new issues or editions of monographs or proceedings. The text layout should follow the same guidelines as the articles – with the exceptions of abstract and keywords – which are not required. Its total length should be from 1 to 5 standard pages of approximately 9000 characters including spaces. The references provided for literature, archival materials etc. if used, should follow the general guidelines of the Journal.
